About CBD Oil

Hemp CBD Oil contains Cannabidiol (CBD) which is one of the natural components found in hemp. It’s non-psychoactive and can be taken as a dietary supplement to support a healthy lifestyle. Eternal Plants hemp CBD oil extract contains cannabinoids, including cannabidiol (CBD) and other phytonutrients and vitamins.

CBD is often just referred to as CBD Oil or Cannabidiol Oil.  CBD is the compound found in cannabis (hemp). Our cannabidiol (CBD) oil is extracted from organically grown hemp plants. The cannabis plant contains many different cannabinoids, we have seen over 92 different ones and it seems there are many more. The most common cannabinoid is called THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), which is the ingredient in cannabis that gets users high. Unlike THC, CBD(cannabidiol) is a non psychoactive cannabinoid and does not cause a high. CBD has antipsychotic effects, which means CBD works completely the opposite way of THC. Numerous studies suggest that CBD also acts to reduce the intoxicating effects of THC.

CBD Hemp Oil is extracted from specially chosen hemp plants that are low in THC (less than 0.2%) and abundant in CBD. These plants are organically grown in Europe. We use supercritical CO2 extraction to preserve the natural properties of the plants. Our extracts also contain trace amounts of cannabichromene (CBC), cannabigerol (CBG), cannabigerolic acid (CBGa) and cannabinol (CBN) and have a standardized terpene profile (Myrcene, Limonene, Alpha & Beta -pinene, Linalool, B-caryophyllene, Caryophyllene oxide, Terpinolene and Humulene)

Pure hemp cannabidiol oil can be taken daily as a nutritional supplement. We offer several ways to consume our CBD hemp oil products, the most popular is CBD drops, & CBD paste. Other CBD Hemp Oil companies sell, CBD capsules, CBD chewing gum and CBD suppositories.

CBD cannabis oil is being studied for its numerous healing properties. As scientists discover more about our body’s own endocannabinoid system, we believe cannabinoids will play a key component in our future health and wellness. We suggest you do your own research to discover the latest scientific understanding of phytocannabinoids and their potential benefits.

Many people find that adding CBD Oil supplements to their diet gives them many health benefits without any of the psychoactive side effects normally associated with taking medical cannabis since you don’t get high with CBD.

What are the Effects of CBD?

CBD influences your endocannabinoid system which regulates a whole host of body functions that are directly related to health and wellbeing such as, memory, appetite, metabolism, stress response, energy levels, immune system functioning, autonomic nervous system, female reproductive functions, analgesia (pain perception), thermoregulation (body temperature) and sleep.

What is the Endocannabinoid System?

The endocannabinoid system is part of the body’s immune system and is a communication mechanism geared to maintaining homeostasis, driven by our own internally produced cannabinoids and cannabinoid receptors. It might be the most important system on the physiological level for creating and maintaining human health. Endocannabinoids and their corresponding receptors are found extensively throughout the human body. They are mainly concentrated in the brain, organs, glands, connective tissues and immune cells.

Scientific understanding of the Endocannabinoid System is in its infancy, having only been discovered in the 1990s. The endocannabinoid system is rooted in the CB1 and CB2 receptors found throughout cells in the body and responsible for creating homeostasis and balance.

The benefits of CBD Oil are not as easily understood as THC, which is explainable with a simple lock and key hypothesis. THC is similar to Anandamide one of the body’s own endocannabinoids and binds directly to the CB1 receptor.

It seems CBD has a low affinity to binding to CB1 and CB2, but there are many other receptors that can interact with CBD

Such as:

In CBD’s case, its ability to bind with non-cannabinoid receptors and ion channels could explain it’s wide variety of therapeutic effects.

CBD cannabis oil from agricultural hemp has very low THC (less than 0.2%). Sometimes referred to as industrial hemp, this is really just a legal definition. There are over 4000 different varieties of cannabis. Our hemp is grown from EU approved varieties that are naturally high in CBD (Cannabidiol).

Since our organic hemp oil extract is made from high-CBD, low-THC cannabis, you don’t get high or experience any of the psychoactive effects normally associated with THC. Our hemp CBD oil is a safe  way to bring the benefits of cannabidiol into your diet and suitable for everyone, both young and old.

Is it Safe to Take CBD?

Yes, CBD is considered safe and non-toxic for humans to ingest, even at high doses. You can read a recent scientific study Safety and side effects of cannabidiol which went in depth on this topic

Does CBD Make me High?

No, hemp oil contains mainly CBD, a compound which does not make the you feel high. Some customers report that it makes them feel relaxed, others report that in high doses it can have similar effects to drinking coffee. Hemp oil helps you to keep a clear mind and maintain an active lifestyle.

What are the Differences between CBD and THC?

THC will get you high and CBD won’t. THC and CBD interact with the body differently. THC activates CB1 and CB2 receptors, while CBD exerts its effects more indirectly.

Cannabinoids interact with cannabinoid receptors throughout the body in the endocannabinoid system. Because THC binds with CB1 receptors so easily, it stimulates the body in a specific way. The results are general relaxation, altered senses, fatigue, and hunger. The “munchies” are a direct side effect of THC.

Unlike THC, CBD does not directly stimulate CB1 and CB2 receptors. Instead, CBD can interact with CB1 and CB2 receptors indirectly — what scientists call modulation.

CBD and THC both interact with the body through the endocannabinoid system that  regulaties a wide array of functions, some of which include:

  • Pain
  • Appetite
  • Mood
  • Memory
  • Immune response
  • Sleep
  • Cycles of cellular life and death

Does CBD Have Side Effects?

CBD is generally considered safe but as with all health supplements, care should be taken especially if you are on other medications.

CBD can interact with other pharmaceuticals

This is because it inhibits the activity of some liver enzymes called cytochrome P450. This family of enzymes metabolizes most of the pharmaceutical drugs used to treat humans. If you are taking pharmaceutical drugs we strongly suggest you discuss these issues with your health professional to discuss any potential complications.

To put these risks into perspective, eating grapefruit has a similar effect on these same liver enzymes.

Other side effects include dry mouth, slight drop in blood pressure, drowsiness, diarrhea (rare cases), loss of apetite.
